There's usually a broad shoulder to trip on, and Malaysian drivers are surprisingly accommodating of the uncommon cyclists they arrive throughout. There are also gravel service roads, mostly nearest to the sea and across palm oil plantations, usually within the shade of bushes. It’s usually hidden behind 50 metres of mangroves or palm timber. I found the landscape fascinating, though seeing palm plantation after palm plantation alongside a busy road got fairly monotonous after a while. In Valparaiso, as in Rancagua, I found a wise Fit, a branch of my chain of Brazilian gyms, the place my membership gives me entry to all branches anywhere on this planet. Unfortunately, I found it exhausting to construct a route out of these small roads, and sometimes ended up back on the principle road. I meditated, not but understanding that, at the same time, my lovely, lovely cat had passed away solely minutes earlier back in São Paulo. It seems to me that, with societal shifts over the previous couple of years, foregrounding the need for extra socially acutely aware business practices, the WSA is slowly moving in the direction of receiving the recognition it deserves. It’s also potential that, 9 years ago, I ignored or didn’t discover the decrepit state of many of the buildings and streets, or that I neglected the numerous street sellers of second hand goods.
